Deanna Ostheimer

December 7, 1938 ~ February 3, 2019 (age 80)
"In a bittersweet moment another Angel has found their wings and has set off on flight safe into the arms of God and to those gone before them waiting and anticipating their arrival as they make their way into Heaven." Deanna May "Dee" (Bunting) Ostheimer, 80, was the daughter of Wayne and Myrtle (Baker) Bunting born on December 7, 1938 in Sandusky, Ohio. Dee graduated from Margaretta High School June 7, 1957 and graduated from Fremont Beauty School May 1958. Married Henry R. Ostheimer June 21, 1958. Dee and Henry purchased a 100-acre farm November 1958 located on Andress Road Berlin Heights, Ohio where they raised their 8 children and lived all of their lives. Dee was a loved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Deanna is preceded in death by her husband Henry R. Ostheimer, son Keith R. Ostheimer, parents, Wayne and Myrtle (Baker) Bunting, sister Janis (Shortie) Castle, and sister in law Beverly A. (Fredrick) Bunting. Deanna is survived by her brother Donald Bunting, son Kenneth (Rhonda) Ostheimer of Milan, Daughter-in-law Ellen Ostheimer of Milan, Son Kevin (Celine) Ostheimer of Georgia, son Kurt (Elena) of Berlin Heights, son Klark (Charla) Ostheimer of Berlin Heights, Daughter Krista (Christopher) Scheufler of Vickery, and twin daughters Kandy Smillie of Perrysburg and Karen (Sterling) Sherwood of New London. Dee is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dee was a Berlin Milan Bus driver for 23 years, a hairdresser in Berlin Heights and Milan for 35 years, but the job she loved the most was mowing the 100 acres of grass for the Edison School District for over 20 years. She was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Wakeman, Ohio. Dee designed many wedding veils and flowers most of the time without charge for they were a gift of love. She was a TOPS club member number 584 since 1971 and was the club leader most of that time. Dee was an Oxford/Berlin grange member since a child and held most offices. Henry and Dee were Erie County Grange Deputies for six years in the 70's and 80's and were Oxford Grange Members for over 65 years. Dee was known by many and loved by all. She had millions of friends. Her most cherished memories are of square dancing, the fantastic family events over the years to making sure all 60 plus of her family received a Christmas gift every year. Dee sent numerous greeting cards to people in many areas. Sort of a card missionary, she also loved receiving and giving hand written letters. Dee was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of 2015. This was the dash of her life. Friends may call on Thursday from 3-7 at the St Mary's Church Social Hall. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 10:30 at the church. Burial will follow at Cable Road Cemetery. Morman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
