John Markwood, 83, of Vermilion, passed away on February 17, 2019 at Kingston Of Vermilion. He was born on January 16, 1936, in Norwalk, to the late John and Anna (Waldron) Markwood, and has lived in Vermilion for the last 15 years. He served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne and was a member of VFW Post 1662 in Amherst. He hung and finished drywall for many years before working at Ridge Tool In Elyria for 23 years, retiring as an Inspector. He enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Donna (Schuh) Markwood, his sister Peggy (Ron) Tucker, of Vermilion, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, daughter Brenda (Keith) Mill, of Collins, step-daughter Lori (Mark) Henson, of Amherst, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Debra Van Tassle, three brothers and four sisters. There will be a time of fellowship on Wednesday, February 27, starting at 12:00 noon at the Berlin Township Farmers & Hunters Conservation Club, 12217 Chapin Road, Berlin Heights.
