Raymond "Ray" Fannin, 63 of Wakeman, passed away on August 16, 2019 from injuries related to a motorcycle accident in Louisville KY.
Ray was a well-known business owner in the Wakeman community. He has owned and operated the Wakeman Laundrimat, Car Wash, and Wakeman Self Storage for 35 years, with his wife Ellen alongside. In 2014, in addition to Wakeman businesses, Huron Lakeshore Laundry was established in Huron OH. He also along with his brother Don Fannin formed Fannin Brother's Inc. in 1976 for 41 years. He was a 1974 graduate of Collins Western Reserve High School and was an avid fan of the WRHS basketball team.
Ray enjoyed and loved spending time with family and friends, He also enjoyed riding four wheelers and motorcycles. Ray also enjoyed the occasional hunting trip, fishing trip, and riding jet ski's in Lake Erie with his daughter Branigan.
On November 1, 1980 Ray married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Ellen (Parker) Fannin of 39 years.
He was born on January 16, 1956, in Norwalk OH to Carl and Rose Fannin.
He is survived by his wife Ellen (Parker) Fannin of Wakeman OH, children Branigan R. Fannin of Wakeman, and mother Rose (Leimeister) Fannin of Collins. Siblings Don (Cheryl) Fannin of Wakeman, Rebecca Magyar of Norwalk, Richard (Genia) Fannin of Norwalk, Michael (Lisa) Fannin of Wakeman, Dale Fannin of Florida, Kathleen (Michael) Mirtes of Norwalk, Doug (Brenda) Fannin of Norwalk, Jeff (Lisa) Fannin of Collins, Neil Fannin of Sandusky OH, and Matthew Fannin of Norwalk. Also included are numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his father Carl Fannin, brother Charles Fannin, sister Barbara Ann, and nephew Paul Fannin.
Morman Funeral Home in Wakeman will be in charge of all services for visitation and funeral. Visitation will be held at the Wakeman Congregational Church on Abbott St.on Monday, August 26 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will also be held at Wakeman Congregational Church on Tuesday August 27 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Wakeman Cemetery.
