Ruth Ellen (Brock) Petrey, 91, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving friends and family.
Ruth was born on Nov. 30, 1930 in Brodhead, Kentucky to the late Worth and Mary (Cassell) Brock.
Ruth always said that she retired from three jobs. Raising her children, working at Fanny Farmer Candies and volunteering at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital, where she volunteered over 7000 hours. Ruth enjoyed helping anyone in need, time with her friends at a casino and mostly loving her family.
Ruth is survived by children Wallace (Beth) Petrey of Vermilion and Timothy Petrey of Norwalk; grandchildren Jennifer (Gene) Lawhun of Sunbury, Andrea Petrey of Olmsted Falls, Michelle Petrey of Wakeman and Kylie Petrey of Gahanna; great grandchildren Brody Lawhun of Columbus, Zoey Lawhun of Columbus, Bryce Lawhun of Sunbury and Kaylee Petrey of Gahanna; siblings Ora Jewell Yeary of Morristown, OH, Loretta Faye Bussell of Dry Ridge, KY, and Edward Brock of Mt. Vernon, KY.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is proceeded in death by her husband Wallace L. Petrey; siblings North Brock, Lilly Quik, Flora Neal, Wilburn Brock and Eva Brock.
Friends may call on Monday January 10, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Morman Funeral Home 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held on Tuesday January 11, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Wakeman Cemetery.
