Almeta "Mimi" Violet Smith, 85, of Collins, OH passed away March 16, 2022. She was born November 20, 1936 in Berlin Heights and graduated from Milan High School in 1954.
Surrounded by her devoted family, Almeta peacefully passed at her home following a lengthy illness. An administrative assistant at Clevite in Milan, her career and passions were in her beloved vegetable garden and in the kitchen cooking and baking proven family treasures.
In 1958, she married Dick Smith. They built a home they forever cherished and raised a strong family.
A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she was always there to support the people she loved the most. She enjoyed family dinners, blooming summer flowers, and visits with friends.
Almeta is survived by her husband of 63 years Richard "Dick" Smith of Collins; daughters, Diane (Patrick) Printy, of Sandusky and Karen (Craig) Boose, of Collins; grandchildren, Joshua (Michael Koury) Boose, Jessica (Rick Visci) Boose-Spencer, Tatum (Drew) Windisch, PJ Printy, and Colin Printy; great-grandchildren, Brayden Spencer, Olivia Spencer, Bennett Spencer, and Grayson Windisch; brother, Theodore (Lorelyn) Russ; sister, Patricia Sipp; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Almeta was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Margaret (Schmidt) Russ; in-laws Charles and Elizabeth (Kotasek) Smith; brother, Raymond Russ; brother, Thomas Russ; and granddaughter, Jacqueline Boose.
A private viewing will precede a public Funeral Mass where friends may call on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 9:30 AM until time of mass at 10:30 AM at Saint Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 38 W. League St., Norwalk. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
