Charles Moore

Charles "Chuck" Moore, 88, of Wakeman, passed away on September 26, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born on April 27, 1930, in Aliquippa, PA, and has lived in Wakeman for 22 years. He grew up in Pennsylvania, and graduated from Florida Atlantic University. He taught Middle School in Florida for many years. It was there that he met his wife of 45 years Nancy (Brucker). Chuck served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict where he served on the USS Los Angeles. He was a member of the Wakeman American Legion Post. In retirement, Chuck was active in Wakeman, serving on Village Council and numerous committees. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Brucker) Moore, formerly of Wakeman, now living in Sautee Nacoochee, GA, his children Charles "Chip" (Gail) Moore Jr., of Lake City, FL, Tom (Joanna) Moore, of Naples, FL, Kelly Moore, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Kevin (Aleta) Moore, of FL, Scott (Karen) Clayton, of Sautee, GA, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother, Nelson (Gail) Moore, of Lady Lake, FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Gertrude Moore, two children Shawn Moore and John Kampi, siblings Jean Orr, Ray Moore, and Charlotte Reed. Memorial services with military rites will take place in in Georgia. Graveside services will take place on Friday at 11:00 am at Wakeman Cemetery.
