Dannie Workman Sr., 76, of Wakeman, OH went home to be with the Lord January 30, 2022. He was born September 23, 1945 in Chapmanville, WV and attended school at Chapmanville Regional High School, graduating in 1963. He joined the Army and served his country proudly for four years, even being stationed in Germany for a time. He went on to work as a welder for Ford in both Lorain and Avon. He was a member of the Wakeman Masonic Lodge, and a 32nd Degree Mason in the Cleveland Shrine. He was a lifetime member of the Vermilion AmVets and the Wakeman Eagles. Dannie loved going to car shows, specifically for hot rods.
Dannie had the biggest heart and was the kindest and most caring man. He would give you the shirt off his back. He would often give people money to treat their children to ice cream or small toys or help cover grocery bills at the register. He was also a little stubborn. He didn't have a greedy bone in his body. He would give you the last $5 in his pocket if he felt you needed it. His life was his family, and they will miss him with every bone in their bodies.
Dannie is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Emma (Vance) Workman; children, Dannie (Michele) Workman Jr., Gerald Workman, and Janette (Workman) Cogar; granddaughters, Brittany (Jacob) Obergas and Sylvia Cogar; grandsons, Dannie (Brittany) Workman III, Gerald (Brittany) Workman Jr., Codie (Jennie) Workman, and Owen Cogar; great-grandchildren, Molly, Parker, Fisher, Averie, Addison, Able, Dannie IV, Alivia, Haizlie, and Noah; a sister, Linda (Roger) Maynard Wilson, of Ocala, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dannie was preceded in death by his father, John Workman; mother and stepfather, Easter (Adams) Dingess and Gene Dingess; parents-in-law, Alvis and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Vance; brothers, Brady "Punch" Workman and Mike "Dilford" Workman; son-in-law, Kevin Cogar; and grandson, Kyler Cogar.
