Delores Ann Whitney, 81, of Wellington, Oh passed into glory on October 17, 2020. She was born August 3,1939 in Grafton, Oh to Duane and Eileen McClellan. She graduated from Wakeman High School in 1957. She went on to work as a secretary for Oberlin College for forty years before retiring to take care of her family.
Delores was a believer in Christ. She raised her children and her grandchildren to seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to have a knowledge of scripture, and to trust in the Lord. She referred to the Bible in times of rejoicing and in times of sorrow. It is because of this faith that her family is comforted by the knowledge that Grandma "Dee" is absent from her body and present with the Lord.
Delores was a true patriot. She believed in the rights and liberties that this country was founded on, and held in her heart a deep sense of devotion to the men and women who have served, who serve, and who will serve in the United States military. She prayed consistently for "our fighting men and women." She was the founding member of the Kipton-Camden-Henrietta Memorial Day parade, that will continue in her honor, and would have celebrated its fiftieth annual celebration this past May 2020.
Grandma Dee will be greatly missed by her husband "Lenny" Whitney; her children Marty Whitney, and Jon and Lynn Fannin; her grandchildren Travis and Renee Beck, and Luke and Amber Fannin; and her great-grandchildren Raegan Beck, Taurey Beck, Rylan Beck, and Eli Fannin; and her sister Lorna Carey.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents Duane and Eileen McClellan; and her sister Darlene Pycraft.
Per Delores's request, the service at Camden Cemetery will be private, including only immediate family.
