~~Edith L. Dalton, 87, of Wellington, and wintering at Maranatha Village in Sebring, FL., died Sunday, July 5, 2015, in Mercy Allen Hospital, Oberlin. She was born in Manchester, TN, on May 20, 1928. She owned and operated the Wakeman Variety Store. She was a member of Camden Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, and decorated the church for almost every occasion. Edith cooked for years at Baptist Camp Patmos on Kelley's Island, 4-H Advisor, Joy Club leader, and was exceptional at crafts, a seamstress, and florist, as she helped many new couples start their lives together. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Homer Dalton; children, bertha (Ronald) Simonson, Homer "Skip" (Angela) Dalton, Glenda (Donald) Hilliker, Dennis (Jean) Dalton, and Kathleen (Keith) Church; grandchildren, Joanna, John, Annette, Carolyn, Tom, Ben, Sarah, Adam, Andrew, Allison, Jason, Janell, Jeremy, Jessica, Michelle, Melissa, Donald, Brian, Kenneth, Lillian, and Kathleen Joy; thirty-nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Harry (Anne) Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Edith (Leek) Wright; sisters, Edna Wertz, and Virginia Lang; brothers, Eugene, Clifton, and Thurman "Carl". Friends may call on Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Camden Baptist Church 17901 St. Rt. 511, Wellington, OH. Pastor Larry Nocella will officiate. Burial will be in Wakeman Cemetery, Wakeman, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Patmos, 920 Monagan Rd., or P.O. Box 1920, Kelley's Island, OH, 43438.
