Elizabeth Ann Houghtlen, 81, of Crestline, OH, passed away November 19, 2021. She was born November 22, 1939 in Norwalk, OH and graduated from Berlin Heights High School. She went on to work as a tool maker for General Motors. She was a member of Bay Point in Marblehead for 30 years. She loved to spend time at the beach and loved watching the water. She also loved to travel, especially to Aruba or the Dominican Republic. She was an avid card player, and particularly enjoyed a game called Hand and Foot. Most of all, she loved her family. She really enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was the fun one, "Little Lizzy," as her family and close friends called her. She was extremely caring. If you needed something, she was there. She was a worrier. She always worried more about the people around her than she worried about herself.
Elizabeth is survived by her life partner of many years, Dave Gekler; children, Donya (Melvin) Lloyd, Tresa Ohlemacher, and Randy (Linda) Houghtlen; grandchildren, Nicole (Robin) Lloyd, Tania (Ben) Stentz, Casey (Aaron) Jacobs, Jeremy (Marci) Houghtlen, Aaron (Samantha) Ohlemacher, and Matthew (Devon) Ohlemacher; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred Reer, Janis Russ, Deb (John) Bell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fred Houghtlen; son, Kevin Houghtlen; parents, Fred and Christine (Eslinger) Reer; and brother, Doug Reer.
