Frank A. Gioffre, age 86, passed away from complications of Parkinson's Disease and Covid-19 December 22, 2020. He was born in Lorain, Ohio, November 26, 1934 to Rocco and Lena (Sofo) Gioffre. He graduated from Lorain High School, class of 1953A, and attended The Ohio State University. Frank proudly served in the United States Navy from 1955-1961, serving on the USS Leyte. After discharge, he owned and operated Frank's Sunoco Gas Station on East Erie Avenue in the 1960's. He then attended Barber College and received his license. He owned and operated his own barber shop in Central Lorain. He also worked for the Del Monico Barbers and held a special bond with them throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Lou Ann Smith on July 12, 1976 and moved to Berlin Heights, Ohio, where he lived the rest of his life.
Frank loved life and he had a passion for music and was an accomplished mandolinist. He also was an avid fisherman and had a love of his pet dogs. He enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and to Ohio and Florida casinos.
Frank is survived by his wife, Lou Ann (Smith) Gioffre, sisters, Marie Bonaminio and Violet Elek, and many nieces and nephews, along with extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rocco and Lena (Sofo) Gioffre, and a brother, Dominic Gioffre.
