Harry E. Thompson Jr. 87 died April 30, 2019 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky after a lengthy illness. Preceded in death parents Harry (Dorothy) Thompson Sr, twin brother Harlan, sisters Betty (Joseph) Grosswiler, Janice (James) Carsten, and grand-daughter Carolyn Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Georgianna (Manders) Thompson, sons, Clark E (Margaret) Thompson, of Findlay OH, Kendall (Ruth) Thompson, of Longmont CO, and daughter, Julie Thompson of Vermilion OH, Granddaughter, Kathryn (Mitch) Jones, of Sylvania OH, Brothers Gary (Jean) Thompson, and Danny (Nancy) Thompson, Brother In Law Charles Manders. Harry's lifelong dream was to build a home himself someday. Over 50 years ago he designed and built, with the help of his wife, a ranch home in Berlin Twp while working full time at The Lorain Ford plant. His cousin Rolland Albright helped him with the brick trim and sandstone fireplace. Harry graduated from Norwalk High School and was a Korean War Veteran. He retired from Lorain Ford in 1991 after 30 years. Harry enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard with his wife, getting together with friends for meals, casinos trips, and cruises. He liked seeing the deer and turkeys in his yard. Calling hours will be held on Saturday May 4, 2019, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. Pastor Dave Brown, of The Chapel in Sandusky officiating. Immediately followed by graveside services at Riverside Cemetery, 71 South Street, Berlin Heights. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the family home following the services. Memorials if desired may be given to Serving our Seniors, Sandusky, Back-To-The-Wild, Castalia, or the Ohio Veterans Home Activity Fund, Sandusky, OH. Online condolences may be left at
