James Fields

James B. Fields, 73, of Wakeman, passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2017. He was born on March 18, 1943 in Elyria and was a 1961 graduate of Brookside High School. Jim served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he received the Purple Heart. He retired from Elyria Foundry after 43 years. Jim enjoyed woodworking, carving, nature, and spending time with his granddaughters. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sherrie (Chambers), daughters Ginger (Craig) Minnich, and Gayle (Mike) Lutz, sisters Jean, Jane, brother Bob, and grandchildren Rebecca, Maggie, and Katie Minnich. He was preceded in death by his mentor and father figure Park Johnson, parents Donald and Hilda (Stiles) Fields, and a sister Donna Rivenbark. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on February 11, from 1:00 to 5:00 at the Camden Township Hall at the corner of St Rt 511 and 303. Online condolences may be left at mormanfuneralhome.com
