Kya Lynn Gibbs, 16, of Berlin Heights, OH passed away April 29, 2021. She was born July 19, 2004 in Sandusky, OH and was a junior at Edison High School in Milan, Ohio.
Kya was a brilliant student with a 4.3 GPA and had recently been inducted into the National Honor Society. She was a hard worker who had built many great friendships during her time at McDonald's and Wal-Mart. She loved to play tennis and was constantly striving to improve her skills in everything that she did. She volunteered for the Humane Society and for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and was a peer tutor. Most of all, she was a beautiful, loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend, and will be in the hearts of many forever.
Kya is survived by her mother, Kimberly (Schultz) Mannin; father, Anthony Watson; siblings, Jason Thomas, Mackinzee Mannin, Anthony Watson, Jr., Damian Watson, Madison Gibbs, Christian Watson, Austin Gibbs, Seth Watson, and Jocelyn Watson; grandmother, Wanda Schultz; aunts and uncles, Melissa (Matt) Chorba, Ben (Britny) Gossett, Lisa (Jay) Middendorf, Keith (Monica) Schultz, and Michelle (Franz) Atschreiter; cousin, Crystal Schultz; numerous other cousins, and her boyfriend of two years, Tyler Smith.
Kya was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dennis R. Schultz; and uncle, Dennis R.S. Schultz.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. Services will be private, and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
