Laura "Jean" Zimmerman, 90, of Wakeman, OH passed away October 12, 2020. She was born April 20, 1930 to Ralph and Edna Holden and graduated from Birmingham High School in 1948. She met and married her husband, Raymond, and farmed with him until retirement. She was a member of the Vermilion Church of the Nazarene and was church organist most of her life. She loved to spend time with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jean was a very caring and loving person. When she asked you how you were, she genuinely wanted to know; she listened. She believed in Jesus, and it was important to her to make sure everyone around her heard the Gospel. She was hardworking and not afraid to get her hands dirty. She did whatever needed to be done. And while Jean did have a sense of humor, she was very down-to-earth. When she wasn't too busy working and had free time, Jean loved to get lost in a good book.
Jean is survived by her children, Ron (Sue) Zimmerman of Wellington, Carolyn (Milton) Sayler of Wakeman, daughter-in-law, Janet Zimmerman of Canton, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edna Holden, her husband of 65 years, Raymond Zimmerman, and a son, James Zimmerman.
