Thornton Brown

August 7, 1946 — March 27, 2020

Thornton E. Brown, Jr., 73, died March 27th at his residence in Berlin Township.

He was born on August 7, 1946, in Corbin, KY., but had lived in the Huron, Sandusky and BerlinTownship areas for most of his life. He was a graduate of Perkins High School.

He spent his entire career working in sales and retired from McNaughton-McKay Electric Company in 2009. In retirement, he was working part-time for his son, Mike, at Universal Equipment & Rental in Sandusky. He served in the Ohio National Guard. He had two favorite pastimes, racquetball every Tuesday and Thursday at Baywinds with some of his best friends (his words) and golf at Thunderbird Hills.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Stallard-Brown, to whom he was married for 30 years; three sons, Brian (Teresa) of Huron, Michael (Tracy) of Milan, and Chris (Stacey) of Norwalk; ten grandchildren, James, Joey, JaLynn, Jessica, Julia, Brandon, Haley, Paige, Caleb and Hannah; one great granddaughter, Rory; four aunts, Joea (Neill) Enoch of Sandusky, Lorene Blanton and Brenda (Carl) Root of London, KY, Patti Byrley of Sandusky; one uncle, Bennie Brown of London, KY. Because Thornton was an only child and family was so important, there are numerous cousins who will remember him with many fond memories.

Thornton was preceded in death by his father, (Thornton) Estel Brown in 1988 and his mother, Ruth (Byrley) Brown in 2006. Both his paternal and maternal grandparents preceded him in death.

He was a registered organ donor; so in death, he has helped others. Cremation has taken place and when life returns to normal, an announcement will be made for a celebration of his life.
