Tonya Rae (Sherer) Myers, 79, of Berlin Heights, OH passed away peacefully in her home March 30, 2022. She was born September 12, 1942 in Sandusky, OH and attended Perkins High School. She went on to marry John Myers in 1963 and took care of her family her whole life. She was a 4-H advisor, loved crafts and flowers, and gardened. She loved rescuing animals, including ducks, geese, chickens, and horses. She loved farming; farming and 4-H were her life. Tonya, along with her husband, John, raised a lot of money for 4-H by starting the Annual Chicken Barbeque Fundraising Raffle, which is on its 41st year. She took wonderful care of her animals her whole life. She welcomed any animal and any human into her home, and loved to cook and bake for everyone. She always wanted to feed everyone and chat over pie and coffee. She loved her childhood and loved to tell stories to her family and friends.
Tonya is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Myers, of Berlin Heights; grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Brink, and Jason Myers; nephews, Rowdy (Jennifer) Sherer, Randy (Tanya) Sherer, Roddy (Joan) Sherer, Rock (Amy) Sherer, and Rory (Juana) Sherer; nieces, Marla Sherer, and Susan Miller; and numerous friends and loved ones.
Tonya was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Genevieve (Newman) Sherer; son, Jamie Myers; brother, Richard "Duke" (Marlene) Sherer, and nephew, Rip Sherer.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights, where services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky.
