Irvin John Pippert, 95, of Wakeman, OH passed away March 6, 2021. He was born November 19, 1925 in Lorain County, OH and graduated from Camden High School in Kipton, Ohio. He went on to work as a farmer all his life, operating his family-owned dairy/grain farm until he was 82 years old. Irvin also served in the US Army with pride, serving in World War II. He was stationed in Italy for a time. He was a part of the Elyria American Legion and the Elyria Eagles.
Irvin was a friendly man, and never met a stranger. He was well-liked, and loved by many. He was known for farming and for his gardens. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Irvin is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Ashby) Pippert; children, Nancy Pippert, Donna Pippert, Cynthia (Gary) Knapp, Timothy Pippert; grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Taft, Zachary Pippert, Joshua Pippert, Christopher Grogg, Wayne (Lisa) Knapp, Wendy Knapp, eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Ziegler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. and Elizabeth (French) Pippert; son, Ronald Pippert; grandchild, Sheena Pippert; siblings, Myrtle Gott, Clayton Pippert, Clarence Pippert, Mary Sigsworth, and Edward M. Pippert.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Additional visitation time is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10, from 1:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM at the Morman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery.
