Louis D. Frederick, Jr., 78, of Wakeman, OH passed away March 29, 2021. He was born August 3, 1942 in Bowling Green, OH and graduated in 1961 from Western Reserve High School. He was a Reserve in the U.S. National Guard, and often wished he would have spent more time in the military. He went on to work as a foreman for the Ohio Turnpike, retiring from there after 30 years of service. He was a 50-year member of the Wakeman Masonic Lodge, and was also a member of the Wakeman Chapter of R. A. M., a member of the Wakeman Congregational Church, and even once served as mayor of Wakeman. Louis loved to play golf with his buddies, and they played every week. He enjoyed riding around Wakeman in his golf cart, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He especially loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louis was a talker. He loved to talk to neighbors and his family. He loved listening to old Doo-Wop music, and dancing around with his grandchildren. He loved taking his dog, Bentley, on daily walks.
Louis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gayle (Vincent) Frederick; daughters, Lisa (Mark) Barrier, and Lori (Doug) Greenwald; grandchildren, Curtis (Heather) Barrier, Alison (Max) Klinger, and Kyle and Halle Greenwald; great-grandchildren, Jackson Stephen, Avelene Barrier, and Duke and Lana Klinger; siblings, Jan (Lynne) Frederick, Mike (Jane) Frederick, and Susan Pete; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bentley.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis, Sr. and Donna (Patterson) Frederick; brother, Tom Frederick; and brother-in-law, Lawrence "Sonny" Pete.
Public graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Wakeman Cemetery and will be officiated by Pastor Melvin Sayler.
