Nancy French, 92, Wakeman, went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2020 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. She was born on January 1, 1928, in Marseilles, OH, and has lived in Wakeman since 1953. She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Teaching Degree. She served as an elementary teacher for Western Reserve Schools for over 30 years. She enjoyed volunteering at Abigail Pregnancy and Norwalk Memorial Home. She attended Norwalk Alliance Church for the last ten years and other area churches before that, and was a lifelong Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Anthony) Moore; of Wakeman; son Richard "Wayne" (Angela) French; of Lake Mary, FL, five grandchildren, Joshua (Sarah), Matthew (Laura), Daniel, Abigail (Daniel), and Andrew, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard French, her parents Charles and Grace (Adams) Heckathorn, and five siblings, Matilda Berner, Robert Heckathorn, Mary Belle Weissinger, George Heckathorn, and Henry Heckathorn.
Private graveside services will be held at Wakeman Cemetery with a memorial service to be scheduled in the future.
