Polly E. Gerrick, 95, of Wakeman, OH passed away October 12, 2020. She was born January 5, 1925 in Medina, OH and graduated from Birmingham High School in 1942. She went on to work as a teller for Elyria Savings and Loan before her marriage to William Gerrick in 1947. Polly was a member of Florence Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School and was later a Sunday School Superintendent and member of the Council. She also was President of the Evening Circle and a past President of the Firelands Garden Club. Polly was soft-spoken, religious, and loved to read her Guide Post. Polly was benevolent; she donated to everything and everyone. She was kind and generous. She and her husband loved the American Indians and they supported an American Indian school for years. She was most at-home in her garden. Polly loved getting the Sunday Plain Dealer, and loved to read the blueprints and redesign them, moving walls and closets. She even designed the house she lived in!
