William "Bill" Boyer, 85, of Wakeman, passed away on November 4, 2019 at Mercy Regional Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1934 in Coshocton County to the late Sylvester Boyer and Sevilla (Craig) Dwiggins. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 2000 as a welder for Cedar Point in Sandusky. He is a member of St. Mary's Church in Wakeman, and the Wakeman Eagles. He was a charter member of the Wakeman Sno-Ballers and truly loved snowmobiling. He enjoyed puzzles, model trains, and attending sporting events for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Barb (Schaefer) Boyer, his children Dale (JoAnne) Boyer, of Norwalk, Mark (Jennifer) Boyer, of Lebanon, OH, Carol (Scott) Perkins, of Wakeman, Michael Boyer, of Delaware, OH, Thomas (Leah) Boyer, of Wakeman, nine grandchildren, siblings, Mary Hammond, of Culpepper, VA, Dick Boyer, of Mansfield, GA, and George Boyer, of Patterson, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Theresa Lee Boyer, and siblings Robert S. Boyer, and Cletus Boyer.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 7, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. There will be visitation one hour before Mass on Friday November 8, at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Main Street, Wakeman. Burial at the church cemetery will take place at a later date.
